2018 Postage Rates

The Postal Regulatory Commission (PRC) recently approved the USPS proposed price changes to Mailing & Shipping Services products. The new rates will go into effect on January 21, 2018.

Changes to First-Class Mail®

  • Price increase for First-Class Metered Mail, from $0.46 to $0.47
  • First-Class Commercial Base Pricing remains: One price for all commercial letters up to 3.5 ounces
  • First-Class Mail® retail stamp price increase from $0.49 to $0.50
  • First-Class Mail® single piece post cards from $0.34 to $0.35
  • First-Class Presort:
  • Average increase for First-Class Mail is +1.9%
  • Average increase for Priority Mail is +3.9%
  • Average increase for Parcel Select Lightweight (PSLW) is +7.0%

 Changes to USPS Marketing Mail

  • Average increase in Standard Mail pricing +1.9%
  • Average increase in Parcels +2.8%

Changes to other Mailing Products and Services

New pricing to affect several services, with average increases as follows:

  • Periodicals +1.84%
  • Package Services +3.9 %
  • Special Services +2.0%
