Skirts on the Links
The Bob Poorman/ALS Golf Classic, July 22, 2017 at Gray Eagle Golf Club, Fishers, Indiana, was held as a fun and fundraiser to honor the life of co-founder Bob Poorman who succumbed to ALS in 2014.
So why skirts? Bob was known for his sense of humor so it has become tradition for participants to wear a skirt (for at least one tee-off) to honor Bob based upon a true golf story.
As told by Bob’s son, Bert Poorman: “Dad asked “what would it take to be able to tee-off from the ladies tee?” A woman nearby responded: “well Bob, you’d have to wear a skirt to have that privilege!” So in pure Poorman form, Bob showed up wearing a skirt and did just that.
SKIRTS ON THE LINKS is a fitting and funny tribute to Bob…he’s missed on the daily and continues to guard the HardingPoorman fort.
Thanks to all of our employees and vendors who participated in our annual event and paying tribute to Bob.
